BoMont Group Announces New President

BIRMINGHAM, ALOctober 6, 2022–  BoMont Group, an Insurance Brokerage & Consulting Firm located in Birmingham, Alabama is pleased to announce that Griffin Smith has joined as President effective August 29, 2022. Griffin is a skilled insurance executive who has established a variety of insurance offerings and has advised organizations on comprehensive risk management programs.

After beginning his insurance career in Florida, Smith most recently worked as the Vice President of Property and Casualty Brokerage and Consulting at USI Insurance Services in Birmingham. He specializes in strategic consulting for complex insurance programs including alternative risk transfer and management liability programs. He has worked with clients in the transportation, real estate, public entity, construction, healthcare, and other sectors, which will be critical as BoMont Group continues to expand its industry footprint.

Griffin holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, where he was named “Most Outstanding Business Student” in his class. He holds certifications as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS). He is currently a J.D. Candidate at Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama, where he is ranked in the Top 5 of his class. “Completing a law degree will allow me to serve our clients when negotiating insurance contracts, reviewing legal liability risks, and advocating for resolution of claims,” Smith said. “This will be another way for BoMont clients to benefit from our team’s expertise and focus on client advocacy,” he added.

Smith and his wife owned a performing arts studio in Florida before moving to Birmingham in 2019. They remain active in the arts and are passionate about community involvement. “Moving to Birmingham has been amazing for our family. The insurance talent pool is incredible here, and I cannot think of a better place to continue growing BoMont.”

As President of BoMont Group, Griffin will be charged with designing innovative insurance offerings for current and prospective clients, as well as developing and implementing strategies that will solidify BoMont as an industry leader.
